⭐ 100% RIGHTEOUS

⭐ 100% RIGHTEOUS

“For God made the only one who did not know sin to become sin for us, so that we who did not know righteousness might become the righteousness of God through our union with him.”
2 Corinthians 5:21 The Passion Translation (TPT)

Jesus was perfect, sinless and holy and yet He became sin for us on the cross so that we sinners could become what He is: perfectly righteous. Righteousness can be defined as being right with God or being able to stand in the presence of God without any feelings of inferiority. The moment that you said “yes” to Jesus, He made you 100% right with God. You are now united with Christ (1 Corinthian 6:17) and through your union, with Him, you were instantly made righteous. You aren’t in the process of becoming righteous – you are 100% righteous. That’s your new identity.

Yes, you may not be acting like a righteous person, but that doesn’t mean that you’re unrighteous. Sometimes my sons enjoy acting like dogs or cats, but I can assure you that there is no species-dysphoria in our household! My boys are 100% human, even when they act like animals. They may not act like humans all the time, but they are maturing as humans. You could sew a tail on you behind, stick fur all over your body and start barking like a dog but you are not a dog. The moment you believed on Jesus you were born of God (1 John 5:1). You are no longer a sinner; you have been born-again as a saint. You are now identical to Jesus.

“…all that Jesus now is, so are we in this world.”
1 John 4:17 The Passion Translation (TPT)

As a part of God’s family, you are just like Him, right now, even when you don’t act like it. You may act like a child of the devil sometimes, but you aren’t. You are a child of God! Being righteous is about identity, not action and performance. Yes, you should act like your Father. No, you shouldn’t live in sin because of grace (Romans 6:1-2). But the reality is that as a believer it doesn’t matter how much you mess up it cannot change who you are in Christ. You may not act righteous, but you are righteous. You are 100% right with God 100% of the time, and especially when you don’t act like it.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:2 New King James Version (NKJV)

The only reason that you don’t act in accordance with who you are in Christ is that you don’t know or believe it (Proverbs 23:7). The more you start to change your thinking (renew your mind) according to your new nature, the more you will start to live like it. The more you start to accept and choose to believe that you are the righteousness of God in Christ, the more you will start to live like it!

Believing that you are righteous will give you boldness and confidence in life but it will also give birth to supernatural faith!
