Feed your faith and starve your unbelief!

It doesn’t matter how bad your situation may be right now, you are never without hope! With Jesus all things are possible! You can overcome! You can break through and you can see a complete turn-around in your circumstances!
Mark 9:23 KJV
“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”
A man had brought his son to Jesus for help. The son was demon-possessed, and the demons would throw him into the fire and into water to destroy him – it was not a pretty situation. The father begged Jesus to have compassion on them and help them. Jesus responds to them by saying “if you believe, all things are possible to him that believes.” All you need to do to overcome a challenging and impossible-looking situation is believe! All you need is faith in God! Faith in God is the answer to every single challenging situation you could face.
What would your response be if Jesus told you that the answer to your challenging situation was to believe? Maybe you are facing a life-threatening health issue or you’ve lost your job and have a pill of bills, and you’re crying out to God to help you; imagine Jesus turning to you and saying, “if you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” How would you respond to Jesus?
I believe that Jesus is saying this to many of you, right now. You’re facing a negative situation and you’re waiting on God to sort it out, now imagine Jesus speaking to you and saying, “If you can believe, all things are possible to you who believes!
You might be saying, “but it’s just too hard to believe!” Maybe you feel that this whole faith thing is just too complicated, and you have too much unbelief to be able to see a miracle? This will encourage you: The father of this son responds to Jesus with tears saying, “Lord I believe, help my unbelief.” Then Jesus rebukes the unclean spirit and the son was completely set free! Jesus didn’t respond to the man and rebuke him for not being perfect in faith. You might believe God and yet at the same time you could also have some unbelief. You can have faith and unbelief operating at the same time but for faith to work you need to starve your unbelief and feed your faith! If you focus more on the unbelief than on your faith it will neutralize your faith. The father in Mark chapter 9 had a bit of unbelief when he went to Jesus, but the fact that he went to Jesus for help revealed that there was also faith present! The man acknowledged that he was struggling to believe but the end of the story shows us that the faith that was present outweighed the unbelief! You have to choose to believe your beliefs and doubt your doubts. Don’t focus on your unbelief and the things that you’re struggling with, rather get into the word and focus on God and His promises and as you do, faith will overcome your unbelief!
Starve your doubts by choosing not to feast on the circumstances or your problems. Starve your doubts and unbelief but feed your faith! You feed your faith by focusing on Jesus; by hearing the Word of the gospel – what Jesus has done for you and freely offers you (Romans 10:17) – pray in the Holy Spirit which builds you up in your most holy faith (Jude 20) and then you will start to experience the normal Christian life where all things are possible! It doesn’t matter how bad your situation may be right now, you are never without hope! With Jesus all things are possible! You can overcome! You can break through and you can see a complete turn-around in your circumstances!
