Are you satisfied?

Are you satisfied?

26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Genesis 1:26-28 New King James Version (NKJV)

God created mankind on purpose and for a purpose. You were not created to be a dud – God destines no one to be a failure or to live a mediocre life. You are not here to merely exist and take up space. Purpose and success are wired into your DNA – we are all destined to live significant lives.

If you’re honest, you don’t like to lose because we are all wired to win. No one completes in something with the desire to lose. Now you can take this to an extreme, and that is why some people get a bit too competitive when it comes to games and sports. It’s a godly thing to want to win and succeed, but not at the expense of love and peace with those around us.

God didn’t create some important people and some “filler-in-people” – people who don’t matter much and just exist to fill space (like extras in a movie cast). Every person is important to God and is called to be a significant part of His plan. We all have different functions and each function is significant. Some functions may be more visible and therefore receive more honour and recognition, but every function is significant. You don’t see your liver functioning in your body and people usually give attention to a persons face and physique, and while the liver hardly receives any recognition or praise for what it does, it certainly plays a significant role in your body. Right in the beginning, in the Garden of Eden, God commissioned mankind with a significant task to have dominion over the earth and we have a part to play in it. Jesus commissioned us with the significant task of taking His gospel to the ends of the earth, and we have a part to play in it (Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Corinthians 5:20).

A desire to be fruitful in life, to increase through multiplication, to rule and reign in this life is written deep into our DNA and original design. We are all wired to live a life of significance! Jesus said that God loved the world so much, that He gave His only Son (Jesus) – this was an act of significance because of the value and love God had for mankind. No one was excluded from God’s plan to send Jesus – it was for the whole world and anyone who believes in Him can receive the gift of eternal life (John 3:16). We were objects of God’s significant mission, therefore, we are significant!

10 A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance,  more than you expect—life in its fullness until you overflow!
John 10:10 The Passion Translation (TPT)

God’s will for every person is in Christ and only in Him can we experience life in its fullness. You may be doing the job you were wired (or gifted) to do but outside of Christ, you will never be satisfied.

And our own completeness is now found in him…
Colossians 2:10 The Passion Translation (TPT)

God wants you to live a satisfied life, but you will not find true satisfaction in earthly accomplishments, wealth, status and fame. True satisfaction and true success can only be found in Christ – in receiving Him, knowing Him and maturing in relationship with Him.
