Focus – a key to getting through – Saturday, 09 December

A stress-free life doesn’t happen accidentally. The life of rest and peace starts with knowing Jesus and keeping your mind stayed (or fixed on Him and on His promises in the Word. Your faith (trust or reliance) in Him is only ever as strong as your ability to keep your mind stayed on Him and His Word.

The enemy wants you to focus on the negative circumstances and challenges in your life because he can only succeed at causing you misery and destroying you if you cooperate with him through your focus. Jesus is much bigger than the devil and every problem that could come your way – choose to focus on Jesus and your problems will start looking very small.

“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.”
2 Corinthians 1:20 NKJV

God’s promises are a sure thing and because you’re in Christ, you don’t have to earn or deserve any of the promises – they’re yours by grace (undeserved, unmerited favour). We receive the promises by faith! Your circumstances and problems are subject to change, but God and His Word will never change.

If you want to see the promises of God come to pass in your life then don’t give up and don’t move your focus. Keep speaking out boldly what God has promised. Don’t let the enemy, any circumstance, or anyone convince you of anything other than what God has said. Let His Word be true in your life and everything else a lie (Romans 3:4).
