God is not your life-coach 😮

God isn’t your life-coach or your business-coach. He isn’t your personal advisor or consultant. He is your Father. You have to pay a life-coach, and the moment you stop paying, your relationship stops, too. That life-coach isn’t really interested in you to see you succeed, it’s their job to help you improve. If you don’t believe me, stop paying them and see what happens. You don’t have to pay God – He isn’t your Father for what He can get from you and even if you never give finances towards His kingdom mission, He doesn’t stop being Father and you can still have a relationship with Him. God is not a life-coach – success doesn’t come because you get direction and input from Him, it comes because of your Father-child relationship with Him. True success is found in relationship with Father God.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20 King James Version (KJV)

Success isn’t about living for God – religion will tell you that it’s all about living for God, but that puts all the focus on you and your efforts to perform. It’s not about getting some instructions from God (discovering your destiny) and doing your best to accomplish your purpose. Success is about Christ living in you and you allowing Him to live through you; it’s about living with God, not living for Him.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 King James Version (KJV)

Jesus came because God so greatly loved us! Love motivated Jesus’ coming so that (the purpose) we would not perish but have eternal life. Through Jesus, we are redeemed from perishing (in this life and the next) and we can receive eternal life. Many people assume that eternal life is living forever, but everyone lives forever – either in heaven with God or in hell without Him.

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
John 17:3 King James Version (KJV)

Jesus defined eternal life for us as knowing God.  In other words, the whole purpose of Jesus coming was to redeem us from perishing and give to us a relationship with God – this is the primary purpose of salvation and life! Sadly, many Christians get caught up in and distracted with their career – what job they should do, where they should work and how much money can they earn and all the while they miss out on enjoying life’s true purpose: knowing God. Yes, God does have a special work for you to do, and yes, He does want you to succeed in your career and life but all of that flows out of knowing Him – enjoying a life-giving relationship with Him.

7 Yet all of the accomplishments that I once took credit for, I’ve now forsaken them and I regard it all as nothing compared to the delight of experiencing Jesus Christ as my Lord! 8 To truly know him meant letting go of everything from my past and throwing all my boasting on the garbage heap. It’s all like a pile of manure to me now, so that I may be enriched in the reality of knowing Jesus Christ and embrace him as Lord in all of his greatness.
Philippians 3:7-8 The Passion Translation (TPT)

Don’t just seek your purpose as in what job to do, or where to live – seek Him. Don’t get distracted in what you can accomplish in life – seek to know God and live life with Him. That is your primary purpose. Everything else is secondary (or less important).
