Stop carrying your cares.

Stop carrying your cares.

“28 Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV

God doesn’t want you to live burdened or weighed down by anything. The only reason that you would be burdened or weighed down is that you picked up something that you should not have or something you weren’t ready for.

When we do things that we weren’t designed or destined to do we end up causing damage to ourselves. God didn’t design or destine you to carry a lot of the things that you’re carrying, and that is why you’re stressed. Stress can lead to all sorts of health issues, and that isn’t God’s will for you.

“7 Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.”
1 Peter 5:7 TLB

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
1 Peter 5:7 KJV

When you carry your worries and cares (things you’re not supposed to carry) it causes stress. You have to let go of some of the things you’re carrying. You were not designed or destined to carry worries or cares.

When you’re carrying your cares you’re robbing Jesus of His job and joy of taking them for you – it’s His job, not yours. Cares and worries will come in this life – Jesus said that we would have trouble in this life but we can be of good cheer through it all (John 16:33). You shouldn’t allow troubles to affect your heart. Even though you have many troubles, you do not have to be troubled.

Jesus offers the weary and heavy burdened an invitation to come to Him and find rest for your soul. This is where God wants you to live: in a place of continuous peace and rest in your heart. That only happens as the result of trusting God – worrying is simply the result of not trusting God. Peace isn’t the absence of problems, it is being secure and at rest, in the midst of problems because you’re focused on Jesus and on His promises.
